I have ADHD. The "just focus" advice doesn't work for me.
My brain doesn't do sustained attention without external structure. It doesn't "power through" boring tasks. And willpower? Nonexistent.
But I've learned to work with my brain instead of against it. Here's what helps.
Decision fatigue destroys ADHD brains. Use Weekly Scheduler to auto-activate focus blocks. No decisions. Just execute.
Blocking apps isn't optional — it's survival. I block everything except the one thing I'm working on.
ADHD brains lose track of time. Set a timer for every block. When it goes off, take a break. No exceptions.
When you catch a hyperfocus wave, ride it. Cancel meetings. Ignore your schedule. Just work.
ADHD isn't a deficit. It's a different operating system. Stop trying to run neurotypical software on it.

Standard productivity advice assumes your brain works a certain way. If it doesn't, build a system for the brain you have — not the one you wish you had.
